WooHoo! Its official … Logan Writers Week will go ahead between the 11th to 16th of October at Logan City Libraries and Angus and Robertson Hyperdome Bookstore.

August was Awesome

August was month of supersonic proportions!
The month of August launched with JOSH AND THE IT zooming away to the Children’s Publisher Leonie Tyle recommended, with her brilliant review attached and a kick-ass marketing plan.
Last week Donna Jelli-Beanz interrogated me on JOSH’s past and future, bribing me with jelli-beanz and cups of tea to disclose my [...]

Testing

All problems fixed now. Reposted  ELEVATOR PITCH.
Thanks to all who helped me with their time and advice. So much appreciated.  :))

August is Sci-Fi Month

Guess who’s on the Sci-Fi program at Logan North Library in August?
Yes, yours truly.
I’m so lucky to share this mega program with Sci-Fi and Fantasy celebrities Marianne de Pierres, Trent Jamieson, Kylie Chan, Louise Cusack and Rowena Cory Daniells who’ll speak on … ‘Simple Ways to Promote your Book’ on Grand Finale Day, 28th August [...]

Running Leap

I’m teetering on the precipice of Publishing, toes jutting over the edge. I gaze down at the deep abyss of failure and defeat. And stare over to the other side … the Mystical Land of Publishing.
All I need is a running leap.
My heart is pounding with exhilaration and uncertainty. I battle with the sharp pangs [...]

4 Offers. Which one First?

Over the weekend, I received four irresistible invitations … an unbelievable offer to write an article for an eNewsletter with a readership of 12K … one for an in-depth interview … another for a Skype podcast interview… and one from a teenage writing prodigy to be a Guest Blogger.
Yesterday Alex Jay, pen-named BJ Cullen, fourteen-year-old [...]

RADF Showcase

Guess what?
Yesterday, I received a surprising call from Logan City Council.
“We’ve selected you to be a ‘Featured Artist’ at the RADF showcase on the 31st July at Logan Art Gallery.”
I fell into my chair. Unbelievable!
Chelsi explained … “The RADF Showcase is a Celebration of Logan creative artists who received a  Regional Arts Development Fund Grant. [...]

Josh and the It … Amped Up

Josh and the It, my kids Sci-Fi chapter book is seriously amped up to the MAX.
Josh’s insistent voice wouldn’t shut up, wouldn’t leave me alone, suggesting ideas, forcing me to do a Rewrite.
In March I read Josh and the It to a class of grade-fivers and studied their honest reactions as Readers.

What scenes made them [...]

Left Brain, Right Brain

In a former life, I slaved as a teacher, a radiographer and a bank Johnny.
Very left-brain ho-hum.
I now exercise my right brain, writing stories, living out fantasies through my characters.
Some days, I’m Josh – Super Space Kid capturing space monsters and saving the Galaxy – in my kids Sci-Fi novel, Josh and the It.
Other [...]
